She's crawling

We have been working with Bailey to help her crawl. She can usually get in the position, then just collapses on her belly. Today she stayed in position and took 2 steps forward. She is well on her way to crawling and getting into everything! I'm NOT sure if I'm quite ready for this stage yet. Here she is with her grandpa helping her and encouraging her all along the way.

A Few Quirks

TAGGED!!By my sis-in-law Traci

The rules are: List 6 quirks about yourself and then tag six people. Leave them a message on their blog letting them know they have been tagged.
( I usually don't like these, but this is kina fun!)

1. I always have to double check that I turned off my straightener. Even when I know for sure that I have turned it off, I always have to run back and check...or have Trent check.

2. I can't get into bed dirty...I have to be clean, and so does Trent, if not then I make him shower (he usually get annoyed at me)

3. I have to put on at least 3 layers of mascara- 2 different types. I put in Clinique first then mac then Clinique. The first lengthens, second adds volume, third seperates....

4. I get ingrown toenails on my big toes, so I hardly ever wear closed toed shoes. I mostly wear sandals!

5. I too have to double and triple check that the alarm is set before I go to bed.

6. I am a procrastinator. I don't feel that I produce my best work until I wait til the last minute. If I start something early, I have a lot harder time coming up with things than if I wait until the last minute.

I tagged Christina, Samantha, Casey, Dad, Rebecca, Gina

Have we forgotten?

My work had a big parade and moment of silence for the 911 victims. So I thought this was important to remind everyone about. For some reason, I didn't hear much news coverage or people talking about it leading up to today as much this year. Is it just this area, or has there been less coverage and media attention this year- Trent

Top 5 reasons I love having a baby GIRL

5. I love pink. I now have an excuse to buy lots of pink.

4. I love bows and accessories. It is so fun to dress up a baby girl. I go crazy at all the headbands, bows, bracelets , shoes, slippers and anything else to help accessorize an outfit.

3. I love shopping for dresses and skirts. Most stores have a better girl selection and tons of cute things.

2. Painting her toenails (while she is sleeping) to match mine makes me smile!

1. The top reason that I love having a baby girl, is that I love that she is already a momma's girl. Bailey and I already share that same "girly bond" that I do with my mom. She loves to dress up and giggles when she looks in the mirror when she is wearing a cute bow. She is so much fun and a joy in my life!

Yes on Prop 8- (thanks Jen Cos)

Yes On 8
Six Consequences If Proposition 8 Fails
1. Children in public schools will be taught that both traditional marriage and same-sex marriage are okay. The California Education Code already requires that health education classes instruct children about marriage. (§51890)Therefore, if the definition of marriage is changed, children will be taught that marriage is a relation between any two adults. There will be serious clashes between the secular school system and the right of parents to teach their children their own values and beliefs.

2. Churches will be sued if they refuse to allow same-sex marriage ceremonies in their religious buildings that are open to the public. Ask whether your pastor, priest, minister, bishop, or rabbi is ready to perform such marriages in your chapels and sanctuaries.

3. Religious adoption agencies will be challenged by government agencies to give up their long-held right to place children only in homes with both a mother and a father. Catholic Charities in Boston has already closed its doors because of the legalization of same-sex marriage in Massachusetts.

4. Religions that sponsor private schools and which provide housing for married students will be required to provide housing for same-sex couples, even if it runs counter to church doctrine, or lose tax exemptions and benefits.

5. Ministers who preach against same-sex marriages will be sued for hate speech and could be fined by the government. It has already happened in Canada, one of six countries that have legalized gay marriage.

6. It will cost you money. A change in the definition of marriage will bring a cascade of lawsuits. Even if courts eventually find in favor of a defender of traditional marriage (highly improbable given today’s activist judges), think of the money – your money, your church contributions – that will have to be spent on legal fees. And think of all the unintended consequences that we cannot even foresee at this time.

Where will it end? It’s your children, your grandchildren, your money, and your liberties.Lets work together to protect them.

There is a website iProtectMarriage.comhttp://iprotectmarriage.com/facts/On this website there is a link about a man who was Jailed for demanding to know when his 6 year old son was going to be taught about homosexuality (the state law says the school is to tell the parents)

All Mommies out there - Carseat help

Bailey has almost outgrown her Chicco travelsystem and we are looking into buying her a new carseat. Does anybody have a certain brand or type they like? Any pro's or cons? We bought Chicco when she was an infant because we heard it was a better brand, but we found out that their were some minor annoyances that we might have chosen something else had we known...such as the carrier didn't fit on carts, so we had to put it in the basket, which took up all the room for any purchases. We also found that the material doesn't breathe well, so Bailey sweats everytime we put her in. The summer is so hot, that in a 15 minute ride to the store(even with the AC on), she is drenched with sweat and I feel so bad...not to mention her screaming. So any suggestions would be helpful. We have been looking at the Britax but would like to know of anything that others seem to like.
Thanks Everyone, we decided to go with a Britax Diplomet. Bailey seems to enjoy her new seat!

Madera Fair

The Mad Town Fair is here...and let me tell you, you're not missing much if you don't go or haven't been. The fair grounds have been cut in half due to a new shopping center. There was only one building with all the things people have entered but it was very crowded and not displayed very well. The people in Madera are pretty trashy so everywhere we went people were smoking, drinking or cussing. Basically the Madera Fair is one of the worst fairs ever. I guess since there is pretty much nothing else to do in Madera, people get excited to at least have somewhere to go without going to Fresno. If you want to visit a good fair, don't waste your time or money, but try the Mid State Fair in Paso Robles or the State Fair in Sacramento, they are much better. But, on a positive note, Bailey enjoyed all the lights and music and the weather was great.
