Snowmaggedon

So, the first snow day ended up turning into 5 snow days. The most that the school district has ever had to use. It snowed and snowed and snowed. Trent even took a day off work because the roads weren't cleared. The kids loved staying home an extra week after going back to school for one day.

Here is Bailey and her friend Erika clearing the snow off the trampoline.

I was going a little nuts by the end, but it was nice to sleep in and stay warm.  we did venture out to chuck e cheese on the last day because the babies were getting a little stir crazy.

Jackson and Madison had a blast at Chuck e Cheese along with Bailey and Nick

Snow day!!!!!

This year it has snowed A LOT!!!! Usually we get a snow storm, it drops about 6 inches and within a week it is all melted. This year, we have had a snow storm every week, sometimes every 2-3days. Trent will just get the driveway and sidewalk cleared and the next day there is new snow on it again. It has been really crazy. It snowed all night and has been snowing all morning so we have quite a big pile in our front yard.

But, today is the kids first snow day, where school was cancelled. Bailey and Nick went back to school yesterday from Christmas vacation and they were so excited to wake up and not have school today!

Here it is just a few days ago after Trent cleared the driveway and sidewalks

Christmas Eve

We had quite the party for Christmas Eve. My brother Casey came from California for Christmas this year. My parents, Matt's family, Aaron (Brandy's dad) and our friends the Belnaps all came for some Holiday fun.

We had our traditional enchiladas for dinner, followed by Dad and Casey playing Christmas carols on the guitar while we sang along. We then played a white elephant type game and the kids acted out the nativity. Santa then showed up with presents for all.

Such a fun evening surrounded by family and friends.....

Happy 2nd Birthday Maddie and Jackson!

Madison and Jackson turned 2 today. These two years have been the hardest so far, but have also flown by. 2 years ago I was ready to go and finish my Christmas shopping with Trent and when I sat down on the couch my water broke. All my plans for that Christmas went out the door. I ended up in the hospital on Christmas Eve and Christmas day feeling sorry for myself when Trent took the kids home and I was all alone. After getting over the sadness, I decided that I was going to walk upstairs to the NICU and see if I could hold one of the babies for the 1st time.   That night I was able to hold Jackson and all my sadness went away. I got to hold my precious 4 lb boy and snuggle him for a bit. Christmas morning before Trent and the kids arrives, I headed back up to the NICU and was able to hold my sweet 3 lb Madison. She was so tiny and fragile and it was such a special moment. I love these 2 spirits deeply and am so grateful that I'm their mom.

Happy 2nd Birthday Maddie and Jax!

Snow day 2016

The day after school got out, we headed to grandma's house for some sledding fun. My dad had made a toboggan run with his tractor this summer. When the snow hit, it fell right into place to make a great place for the kids to go sledding.  They had a blast!

Bailey's gymnastics recital

Bailey is very shy. She does not like any attention on her and is very timid. So this year I put her in gymnastics hoping to build her confidence and get her to come out of her shell a little. Her friend Erika is also in her class and Bailey enjoys having a friend with her each week.  So today was the Winter recital. Bailey has been nervous all week, but she did great today! She said that she wasn't nervous and was very excited to perform in front of so many people.

Way to go Miss B!

Polar Express Christmas Party

This year our church had a Polar Express Christmas Party. We had a breakfast and a fun program. The kids dressed in their pajamas, got a ticket from the Engineer for the ride, and when they saw Santa he handed them each a small bell. It turned out great and the kids had a great time.

Here the kids are playing with their friends in the hall
