happy 2014!

We were able to welcome in 2014 with my good friend Ashleigh and her family. Our kids love playing with hers, so we thought it would be fun to hang out that evening, have snacks and games and just relax and have fun bringing in the new year.

The kids had a blast running around, making messes and playing with their friends...

The men watched the bowl game

the girls being silly in the kitchen

Ashleigh made some fun drinks by putting colored ice cubes in Sprite!

After the festivities, we went home and the kids put out their shoes for Mother Goose. Here is a post if you forgot what Mother Goose is.

What a fun time we had ringing in the new year with our kids and friends!

Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. It was the first time we celebrated in our own home and not with extended family. The kids slept in and Trent had to tell Nick what day it was before it sunk in and he ran to wake up Bailey.

Bailey got a new baby carriage and wanted to show grandpa and grandma

So she got dressed put her Pinkie Pie in the stroller and took a small walk down the street to their house

Trent made Terry's Christmas casserole the night before so we baked it, took it to my parents and enjoyed the rest of the morning with them. The kids enjoyed having two Christmas' since they got presents at both houses. I do miss Christmas at my grandma Parsons house (that has always been our family tradition) but it was nice to relax and not have to travel. Merry Christmas 2013!

A fat lip and beautiful lights

My cousin Brittain is visiting Idaho from California, so last night we went with him and my brother Matt's family and my parents to the Caldwell River walk to see the beautiful lights. It was freezing outside (not sure if it was even double digits) but the lights were pretty.

The highlight of the night though was little Nicholas....

Now look closely.... Nicks looking at the beautiful river, but....

...wet lips don't do well with the freezing metal bars.. he froze his lips on the bridge and didn't even tell anyone until Uncle Matt asked what he was eating and we turned around to this mess :)

After quite a bit of bleeding, it finally stopped and didn't even phase him :)

Winter wonderland

We finally got our first snow of the year. Both kids jumped out of bed and wanted to go play and make a snowman. Even Bentley loved running in it!

No cavaties!

Another successful trip to the denstist!

Nick did pretty good and even let them clean all his teeth and put on floride . There is a TV above him that he is watching with a cool pair of sunglasses on that probably helped.

And Bailey is a pro even getting a few of the bitewing x rays

Now its her turn to relax and watch a movie!

I seriously love Dental Care for kids in Meridian. They have been amazing working with my little kids and making the experience a good one. Both my kids actually look forward to going!

Gingerbread Man

It has become a family tradition to decorate some type of gingerbread around Christmas time. It used to be the  houses that were made of Graham crackers, then store bought houses made of unedible gingerbread and has for the last few years turned into gingerbread men. The are easier and a lot less mess when a 3 year old is participating.

Both kids love to do crafts of any kind, so when it involves candy they are even more excited.

 Happy with his finished product

Now taking a bite out of his finished product

And Bailey's gingerbread man

And if you notice...

She did indeed make it a boy and clarified that for me...

The most wonderful time of the year

I love this time of year. I love the songs, treats, smells, the giving and even the shopping and wrapping. I just enjoy the holiday season. It has been especially nice to stay home this year and be able to get stuff done around the house. Trent has been busy with a few projects around the house and we finally finished yesterday and decided to go out and get a Christmas Tree.

It was late by the time we got it home and ready so we decided that we would wait until after church then we would decorate it all together as a family. My kids absolutely loved it. We sang Christmas songs as we decorated. One family tradition we have is getting a new ornament every year, so Bailey got to see all my ornaments from when I was a little kid and she is excited to start getting new ones of her own.

My camera didn't take very good pictures with all the bright lights but here are the kiddos helping decorate

Say cheese Nick

Seriously...he is 100% Campbell. I can never get a normal smile out of this kid :)

Having two much fun! Not sure what either child is wearing...Nick with his church shirt and pajama pants and Bailey in capri legging and fur boots!

And my big helper vacuuming the mess up! What a wonderful day we had together!

And the finished result!
