The lights at Temple square

We headed to Utah this year for Thanksgiving with the Campbell family. The kids had such a great time playing with their cousins. We enjoyed the short trip and especially eating a delicious turkey dinner. I was wanting to do a little Black Friday shopping, but since we left that morning at 5am, I was a bit tired to join the crazy crowds. We were only able to visit a few days, but the one thing that I really wanted to do was take the kids to see the lights at temple square.

Gary made sure that we saw the museum where he volunteers...

Then we headed to SLC and see all the beautiful lights

At the food court in the new mall across the street. Bailey and Nick had so much fun with Kaizlynn and Kayloni.

Bailey got a pretty good picture of me!

What Bailey is Thankful for

Boise Temple open house

The Boise Temple has been renovated and remodeled and it had an open house for the public in October. This was a great opportunity to take Bailey and Nick to go inside the temple for the first time. Bailey was so excited to be able to go in. She got dressed all by herself and even took Nick up to his room and dressed him (and we weren't leaving for another few hours.)

She loved the beautiful rooms and especially seeing where you get married. Afterwards she said that "the temple was much more beautiful than the church" Unfortunately my camera did not have the SD card in it, and our phones were in the car, so I didn't get any pictures at the temple.

We left the temple around 7:30 and were starving. We were going to go to Café Rio but Bailey said that since she was wearing a fancy dress that she needed to go somewhere special. She was right, it was a special night that deserved a special dinner to make it perfect. She has always wanted to go to Chili's so we took both kids to Chili's and had a wonderful evening!

The only picture I could get of Nick looking the camera is when I snuck in a kiss!

A halloween party to remember

After seeing a ton of cute Halloween ideas on Pinterest and thinking that I would never do them unless I had a party, I invited some friends and their kids over one morning to make caramel apples with us and to bring a Halloween treat to share.

Here are the fun ideas people brought

Some of my friends. It's really not a great shot...oops!

Some caramel apples that we made and had fun decorating

Nick and Bailey were playing with friends so they made their apples that evening

Ok, while this was certainly a fun activity, it was not the Halloween Party to remember. There is a family in our stake that puts on a community Halloween Party at their ranch....

complete with superhero skydivers!

Can you tell which one this is?

How about now?

Oh wait, another one just jumped from the plane...Captain America??? Yep!

My little unicorn an dragon waiting to meet the Superheros that just landed

Bailey didn't want to meet them, but Nick sure did

And if you thought that this party couldn't get any cooler, you are wrong... Another airplane..this time it is dropping something on us. If you look closely in the 2nd picture you will see candy floating (or dropping) to the ground and on us! This was pretty exciting even for the adults as we waited for the plane to circle around and drop another of candy to us waiting below.

people waiting for the next drop!

That was definitely a Halloween Party to remember. They also had a huge field made into a cemetary for a cool scavenger hunt, a haunted house, movies, popcorn, face painting, food, hay rides and kiddie train...all for free! We will be going again next year and we also found out that they do a Giant Easter Egg hunt too! I love the family friendly Boise area!

finally my two trick or treaters heading out on Halloween night! So much fun!
