Happy Easter
I tried to make the best of Easter Sunday this year. After waking up and finding their Easter baskets, I made Resurrection rolls for breakfast with the older kids. They are rolls that you wrap a marshmallow in, but when you take them out of the oven, they are empty.
We stayed home from church again today to make sure everyone is better. I'm pretty sure Nick is better, but not sure if Bailey and the babies are still contagious. Bailey ended up getting the rash also, and has sores all around her mouth. Her sore throat just went away today. She will be staying home from school for the next day or two until her face is cleared up. Supposedly you are contagious a full week after you get it, but some doctors say until the sores all go away. The babies seem to be back to normal, but still have hard scabs all over. This is a nasty virus that I wouldn't wish upon anybody, but we survived!
I did let the older kids do an egg hunt a few days ago, but told Bailey not to get too close to her friend Erika
Jackson definitely enjoyed his chocolate bunny
And playing with Bailey's stroller
Bailey wanted to dress up even though we didn't go anywhere. She looked pretty finding eggs though
Nick was sure fast
Trent and the babies enjoying the porch swing
Here are the babies baskets and the older kids below. Trent said that the Easter bunny really spoiled the kids this year, but after the week we had, I think it was deserved.
And I'm so glad that Miss Bailey is finally starting to feel better. Now to just get rid of the painful sores on her face...and Tuesday is class picture day, so I hope they start to heal quickly
Hopefully Spring break next year will be full of fun adventures, but I will say, that it was pretty relaxing to stay home all day, every day. Most days the kids stayed in their Pjs. I am ready for kids to head back to school and so glad that everyone is feeling better.

Spring Break week
So far this Spring break has been a bust. After the babies fevers went down and they were starting to feel better, Bailey came down with a fever and sore throat. The virus usually only affects children over 5, so I think she got a little bit, but not the sores on her body.
But a few highlights....
Nick absolutely LOVES artichokes, so I surprised him with a huge artichoke the other night. He was so excited that all he could talk about... And that it tastes much better with mayonnaise because butter justs taste like nothing :)
Since we were home anyways, we decided to dye the Easter eggs today. It was a fun, quite activity that was done during the twins nap time. Bailey and Nick both really like dyeing their eggs.
And last but not least, our nude-y baby is starting to feel much better...yay
And tomorrow if Bailey is better we will do an egg hunt down at the little pond area in our subdivision with some friends. Even though we haven't been able to go out and do fun things, it is nice to relax with the kids time off and not be so busy.

Hand Foot Mouth Disease
Last Wednesday Nick came home from school and didn't feel well. He said his whole body hurt, had a high fever and the rest of the day was spent in bed. The next day he seemed to be himself again, but I kept him home from school anyways. Fast forward to Friday night and both babies were cranky and starting to feel warm. As the night continued, their fevers got worse and they were up all night along with Nick. Saturday they were both terribly fussy and by Sunday morning a bright red rash was all over their body. They even had sores in their mouths and throats, which Nick said that he had also. I then checked him over and found the spots on him also, just not as many.
Luckily my parents were still in town and ran over to watch the older kids before they headed to California that day. We took the babies to the urgent care and they were diagnosed with the hand foot mouth disease. It is a virus so no medications would help. Tylenol and Motrin was what we were told.
Babies were miserable and there was nothing we could do. Fevers of 103, body aches and chills, sore throats and erupting sores covering their bodies. They are also contagious for a few weeks, so we are staying put for awhile. Needless to say, we have gotten next to no sleep the last few days and Trent went back to work today. Since it is Spring break Bailey and Nick will be home all week and probably bored out of their minds. Hopefully babies will be feeling better in a few days.

Jackson has more sores on his face and legs and Maddie seems to have more on her hands and arms.

grandpa and his babies
Before grandpa left for California, he had to stop and see his babies. They sure love him. Little did we know that they were just coming down with the hand foot mouth virus. Luckily Grandpa and Grandma didn't catch it and ruin their trip :)

milk
Since the babies have switched from formula to whole milk, our grocery bill has gone down a lot. But, we now go through about 10 gallons of milk a week. These half gallon containers were on sale for .79 this week, so we stocked up for the next 3 or 4 days. Quite a bit cheaper than the $15/day we were going through with formula, it almost put us in the poor house.

naughty maddie
Madison loves making messes, but especially loves the bathroom. If the toilet seat is up, she plays in the water....YUCK! And we are super careful about closing both the toilet seat and the bathroom doors, and closing the baby gates in the house so they cant get to the bathrooms. But, sometimes they are left open and this little girl ALWAYS heads straight to the bathroom. If the toilet seat is down, she unrolls the toilet paper...Naughty Maddie!
Our Nick is now 6!
Nick had a birthday this last week and turned 6 years old. He sure keeps us on our toes and keeps us plenty busy. This kid is full of wonder, curiosity and mischief. He has way too much energy but likes lots of snuggles at bedtime.
We said that he could invite a few friends from his old school in Kuna over to celebrate his birthday with him.
Everyone likes a pinata....grab that candy!
He got lots of neat toys!
Miss Maddie enjoying a cookie
And he blew them all out! Happy Birthday Mr. Nicholas, oh how we love you!
