Quick trip to Utah

My mom offered to watch our kids so we could enjoy a night away. Trent and I couldn't agree on where to go or what to do for a night...McCall, Portland, Salt Lake were all in the running. Portland was too far of a drive  for just a night or two. Most of McCall was already booked so we decided to go to Utah. We thought since we were going there, we should probably take the two older kids who have been begging to go to Utah all summer. So instead of a night away as a couple, we took the older kids on a little vacation without the babies.

Trent took Friday off work and we headed down. We checked into the hotel and took the kids swimming before we met Trent's parents at Beihanas for a fun dinner. Nick was asking all weekend if we could go back there to eat again, so he must have really liked it.

The next morning we took the Trax a few blocks down to temple square. The kids love the visitor center and we had to pull Nick out of there to go to Lagoon.

Next we headed to Lagoon Amusement Park. Our friends from Idaho,  the Belnaps, were also going this weekend, which made the day even more fun. Grandpa and Grandma Campbell also met us there so we had tons of fun with all our friends and family

Here is Nick and Bailey with their friends Kylie and Lexi at Lagoona Beach

All in all, it was a great weekend. We packed in a whole lot of fun in just a few days. It was nice to not have the babies (including their crankiness, crying and naps) to work around. We get so much more accomplished without two 18 month olds in tow. I did miss them though and was happy to see them when we got back home. So grateful for my parents so we could go and have some fun for the weekend and I could sleep through the night for the 1st time in a while :)

Nick's new bike

The babies love sitting in the bike trailer while we take family bike rides. Nick never wanted to go because he was always tired about half way through Finally we realized that he needed a bigger bike to keep up.

We ordered him a bike and voila..... he is now faster than everyone and loves his new bike.

The babies were helping Trent put the bike together...he really loves their help :)

One happy camper!

Babby Farms

Last week we ventured over to Babby Farms in Caldwell. They are a petting zoo with exotic animals such as kangaroos, buffalo and camels. Even though it was super hot,  we all had a great time.

We went with cousins Aaron and Sunny

Jackson and Madison both love animals and did great

Maddie wanted to pet every animal she saw

The Yak liked Nick

The kids were able to go into the kangaroo enclosure and pet and feed them also. Pretty fun day

doctors checkup, roaring Springs, and Megan Trainor concert

Last weeks schedule was busy and full of fun events.  Thursday evening, I took Bailey to a Megan Trainor concert. It was Bailey's first concert, so it took her a while to loosen up. We went with our friends and Grandpa and Grandma Davis came too!

Then on Friday the Babies had their18 month checkup. The doctor was still concerned with the size of Jackson's head so he ordered another head ultrasound to see what's going on and why his soft spot is still open.  His ultrasound will be in the next few weeks. They are very active babies and seem perfectly fine to me.

Then Saturday, Trent and I took the older kids to Roaring Springs Water Park for the day. We all had a great day and were pooped out when we got home. Between the wave pool, lazy river and all the slides it wore us out!

bike ride on the greenbelt

Today I took all 4 kids on a bike ride on the Eagle Greenbelt with Grandpa and Grandma. Nick was tired after about 10 minutes and wanted to head back, so the bike ride was pretty short. The babies love the bike trailer and did great even though it was nap time. Afterwards we got to play at the park and get shaved ice before heading home

Maddie absolutely loved playing at the splash pad

Successful but short bike ride and park day

Happy 4th of July!

I can't believe it is already July. This summer is flying by. We headed out to the God and Country firework show last Wednesday and enjoyed the evening watching fireworks with my parents and some friends. Bailey and Nick love playing with all the kids until the fireworks show started around 10pm.

Then for the 4th we headed to Melba with my mom (Trent and Jackson stayed home) and watched their parade. The kids got so much candy thrown at them that it was like Halloween. If you want to see how exciting a melba, ID parade is, here are the highlights....

We headed back to my moms for a BBQ lunch with cousins. Maddie loves sitting on grandpas lap and sharing his food (especially if it is sweet)

Then we headed back to Star to join more friends for the City fireworks show. Nick loved rolling down the hill and they both love playing with their friends all evening. It was also chilly that evening so we huddled under the blankets for the show.... I love Idaho weather.

(Jackson missed out on most of the festivities because he doesn't like a lot of noise so Trent stayed with him most of the day)

We had such a wonderful 4th celebrating our freedom with friends and family. We love our country and grateful for all those who have served to help protect it. Happy 4th everyone.
