2017 Spring Break

This last week was Spring Break for the kids. We got a lot of rain this week, but in between, the sun came out and we enjoyed a few days out.  On mOnday we went to Walter's Ferry here in Idaho by the Snake river in Nampa. It is a mile long walk, but all along the way are weird and fun statues and birdhouses.  Bailey brought two friends, so there were 6 kids. Luckily my parents came along to help me out. Madison and Jackson had a blast, but they want to be independant and walk, and it is very hard following both toddles as they run in opposite directions.

Trent was able to take Wednesday off work and he took the older two kids fishing

And throughout the week, we played outside. Maddie loves sidewalk chalk, so every chance she got, she would head outside and draw. The only problem is that they prefer the front yard, and they are now able to open doors and the deadbolt locks. Twice we were looking for them and a neighbor saw them in the front yard all by themselves and brought them back to us. It scares me everytime and we are now going to have to get another lock that these two can't open!

Quick trip to Utah

My mom offered to watch our kids so we could enjoy a night away. Trent and I couldn't agree on where to go or what to do for a night...McCall, Portland, Salt Lake were all in the running. Portland was too far of a drive  for just a night or two. Most of McCall was already booked so we decided to go to Utah. We thought since we were going there, we should probably take the two older kids who have been begging to go to Utah all summer. So instead of a night away as a couple, we took the older kids on a little vacation without the babies.

Trent took Friday off work and we headed down. We checked into the hotel and took the kids swimming before we met Trent's parents at Beihanas for a fun dinner. Nick was asking all weekend if we could go back there to eat again, so he must have really liked it.

The next morning we took the Trax a few blocks down to temple square. The kids love the visitor center and we had to pull Nick out of there to go to Lagoon.

Next we headed to Lagoon Amusement Park. Our friends from Idaho,  the Belnaps, were also going this weekend, which made the day even more fun. Grandpa and Grandma Campbell also met us there so we had tons of fun with all our friends and family

Here is Nick and Bailey with their friends Kylie and Lexi at Lagoona Beach

All in all, it was a great weekend. We packed in a whole lot of fun in just a few days. It was nice to not have the babies (including their crankiness, crying and naps) to work around. We get so much more accomplished without two 18 month olds in tow. I did miss them though and was happy to see them when we got back home. So grateful for my parents so we could go and have some fun for the weekend and I could sleep through the night for the 1st time in a while :)

almost summer

With school getting out in just a few short weeks, it seems like our lives have gotten a little more hectic recently. There have been end of the year projects, tests, carnivals, art walks, book fairs and presentations.  We try to go to as many as possible, but tagging 2 babies along is not easy. It helps a ton when  my mom can watch the babies so I don't have to bring the huge double stroller and have 2 babies to wrestle with :)

Here is Bailey and her friend Erika (who lives down the street) after the school carnival with their faces painted and shaved ice

During the days, I try to keep the babies happy and busy. The one thing that they absolutely love is going outside. They also love swinging on the porch swing.....

Life is going to be very different when Nick and Bailey are out of school. I'm already dreading the noise and constantly dirty house. I'm gonna have to figure out a schedule so things don't get too out of control and how to fit fun activities in...I think we may need my Aunt Pam to come help for the summer !!!!
