Egg hunts, treats and the Easter Bunny

We had a wonderful Easter this year. On Saturday morning, the kids had a great time hunting for Easter eggs in our subdivision park. The eggs were hidden so the kids had to hunt for them.

The next day was Easter Sunday and we went to my parents church to celebrate easter with them. Afterwards Matt's family joined us for another egg hunt and a nice turkey dinner. This is the best picture we could get of the kids after church. they were not the most cooperative.

Bailey sure loves her Grandpa Davis

Happy 2nd Birthday Maddie and Jackson!

Madison and Jackson turned 2 today. These two years have been the hardest so far, but have also flown by. 2 years ago I was ready to go and finish my Christmas shopping with Trent and when I sat down on the couch my water broke. All my plans for that Christmas went out the door. I ended up in the hospital on Christmas Eve and Christmas day feeling sorry for myself when Trent took the kids home and I was all alone. After getting over the sadness, I decided that I was going to walk upstairs to the NICU and see if I could hold one of the babies for the 1st time.   That night I was able to hold Jackson and all my sadness went away. I got to hold my precious 4 lb boy and snuggle him for a bit. Christmas morning before Trent and the kids arrives, I headed back up to the NICU and was able to hold my sweet 3 lb Madison. She was so tiny and fragile and it was such a special moment. I love these 2 spirits deeply and am so grateful that I'm their mom.

Happy 2nd Birthday Maddie and Jax!

Another round of sickness

Last Sunday as we were headed out the door for church, Jackson threw up all over Trent. Needless to say that I stayed home with the babies from church that day. The next day Jackson seemed to be doing better, but in started Madison and Nick. By the end of the day, I was sick also....yep 3 of us throwing up at the same time. My mom came to help with the kids the next day and luckily it seemed to be only a 24 hour bug. The day after, both Trent and Bailey came down with it.

We are finally all feeling better and really enjoying not being sick. We are still playing catch up from the countless loads of bedding and laundry we went through. I believe I washed the crib bedding 5 or 6 times between both babies being sick. Not a great week for us.

We are starting off this week much better. We all made it to church yesterday, I am slowly getting caught up on laundry and housework and all the kids went back to school.....yeay

Here are a few pictures of last weeks fun

Maddie likes to explore and getting into trouble. She is my mischievous little girl that gets into EVERYTHING

including the dryer as I took out the clean clothes. She is crying because Jackson was shutting the door on her

Nick made it back to school by Friday and was able to be in the kindergarten music program. He is sitting on the front row (on the right side) holding an instrament

Friday evening when everyone was feeling better, we went to Boise and took part in the March of Dimes walk to help raise money for premature babies. We didn't end up going on the walk because the babies were pretty cranky before it started, but at least we tried

Then on Saturday morning I was able to sneak away and go to a few garage sales. I found this cool roller coaster for the babies and they loved it.

A very eventful and crazy week, but we made it through and looking forward to what comes next

1st year photo shoot

The first photos have emerged from the twins 1st year photo shoot. I really don't think we were able to get a picture where both babies were smiling, but the sneak peek that was sent to us turned out great.

They are also little models for an etsy page selling the cute outfits and accessories

So excited to see all the photos when they are finished

Twins are 1 years old

Hands down, this has been the hardest year since Trent and I got married 11 years ago. With the babies coming 8 weeks early and staying in the NICU for 5 weeks, to us selling a home, moving in with my parents, my grandpa unexpectedly passing away, then moving into a house right before the holidays, all the while trying to keep up with two babies and being exhausted daily, we made it! Madison and Jackson are 1 year old.

They are still a bit behind in their development and motor skills, but steadily catching up. They are now both crawling everywhere! We still have yet to see any teeth, or any first steps, but we are not rushing either or those milestones :)

They both have completely different spirits and personalities and are so much fun to watch them grow together.

Here they are below, talking to eachother

Maddie was really excited that she got a whole cupcake to herself

And Jackson realizing that he really does love red velvet cake

Happy Birthday Madison and Jackson. Oh how we love you!

and the fun begins...

Another school year is upon us. Bailey is starting 2nd grade and Nick is in AM Kindergarten. They are in  a new school and have been anxiously excited about the first day. This school starts at 8am where Bailey's last school was at 9, so this will be a change getting up so early. The school is 20 minutes away, so by 7:30 we are out the door.

Nick came home from kindergarten and said that it was kinda fun, then he went straight for his video games. I guess it didn't make that big of an impact for him! I had to pull info out of him and he didn't have much to say about anything:)

Bailey had a pretty good day and even had a friend. There was a little girl from her church class that she knew and played with on the playground. She was even invited to her birthday party at the Ice Skating Rink! The only hiccup in Bailey's day was at the very end. Her teacher didn't know I was picking her up from school and stuck her on the bus. I couldn't find her after school, and luckily the bus hadn't left yet. Her teacher went and grabbed her, and when Bailey saw me she started crying. She was scared she wouldn't know where to get off.

Both kids did great and each day will hopefully get easier and better!

AS for the twinsies....They are 8 months.

Maddie is a little piggie and eats all the food she can. She doesn't have any teeth but wants to eat anything you are eating. She is a very happy, squealing baby and is now a whoppimg 15 lbs.

Jackson is very sensitive and still doesn't like much to eat except his bottle and a few baby foods. He likes to be cuddled and and has to have a soft blanket to sleep with. He is now 18 lbs and growing like a tree. Still no teeth for him either.

Both babies are trying to sit up on their own, but don't last very long. Still aways off from crawling but I am very happy that they are staying little for a little longer.
